Program Introduction
Pestalotiopsis leaf Fall disease (PLFD) was first detected in November 2017 in Kampung Pancajaya, Segamat, Johor. Until now, this disease attack has been detected in all states except Perlis and Penang.
This fungus infects the leaves, stalks, branches and fruits of rubber trees where the infection is more concentrated on the leaves than on other parts. A mild and moderate attack can cause up to 50% leaf drop. Meanwhile, severe and repeated infections will cause mature rubber leaves to drop from 90% to 100%. -
